HYPERLINK imagines the internet as a microbial ecosystem, where memes multiply, mutate and circulate like bacteria and viruses.
The film follows fictional “cyberbacteria” as they enter and colonise the brain—a visual metaphor for the ways online information lingers in our minds and shapes everyday thought and communication.


CHARACTER DESIGN
Inspired by microscopic photography, plant cells and familiar internet memes, I developed a collection of imaginary organisms.

PROCESS & MATERIALS

I combined hand-drawn ink animation with frame-by-frame material experiments using slime and foaming gel.

Ink creates the grainy black-and-white world, while translucent gels evoke the fluid, gelatinous qualities of microorganisms. Tests with colour, light and texture shaped the film’s microscopic imagery.
